LSEG and NVIDIA have announced a collaboration to use GPU-accelerated computing for analyzing massive historical market datasets. The partnership aims to reduce processing times from hours to seconds, supporting quantitative research and AI workflows.
London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announced on October 14, 2026, a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA designed to help financial institutions analyze large volumes of LSEG Tick History data at significantly greater speed and scale. The initiative leverages NVIDIA cuDF for accelerated computing on NVIDIA GPUs, allowing firms to process complex market datasets without creating additional full copies of the underlying data. This approach preserves the existing licenses, permissions, and access controls that govern the datasets, ensuring security and compliance remain intact during high-speed analysis.
According to benchmark analysis cited in the announcement, years of LSEG Tick History data can now be analyzed in seconds using NVIDIA cuDF and Polars, a reduction from processing times that previously took hours. As equity trading moves toward near 24-hour operation, financial firms are increasingly moving away from legacy models that rely on market-close data loading and overnight analytics. This new capability enables deeper, continuous historical analysis throughout the trading day, bringing insights closer to the point of decision-making.
LSEG Tick History is a vast repository holding 110 trillion rows of data across 100 million instruments. The dataset spans more than 30 years and covers over 580 exchanges, trading venues, and contributors. Demand for this data has surged recently; in the first half of 2026, traffic over LSEG’s real-time network grew by 29% compared to the same period in 2025. The network reached a new peak of 26 million messages per second in June, while customer API requests for Tick History data increased by 48%.
Ron Lefferts, Co-Head of Data & Analytics at LSEG, stated that the collaboration expands how customers can draw insight from the company’s trusted, governed data. He noted that customers seek to work with detailed historical data at speed without the burden and risk of creating duplicate datasets. This helps firms analyze deeper histories while keeping the permissions and controls they rely on fully intact.
Ioana Boier from NVIDIA added that AI is opening new ways to understand market behavior across vast amounts of data. She explained that NVIDIA cuDF helps researchers analyze LSEG Tick History at scale without downsampling away the detail that makes the data valuable for advanced analytics and AI applications.
The collaboration is intended to support several key customer workflows, including quantitative research and strategy testing, execution and market analysis, and risk management. Specifically, it allows for the reconstruction of order books and historical market conditions, as well as the acceleration of scenario analysis and historical market replay. This creates a foundation for customers to apply their own analytical and AI models to governed LSEG data, turning content into actionable insights faster as part of the LSEG Everywhere AI strategy.
