Danaher and NVIDIA announced a collaboration to advance autonomous science by integrating AI with laboratory instruments. The partnership aims to accelerate scientific discovery using technologies like DGX Spark and BioNeMo.
Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) announced on Wednesday a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) to advance autonomous science and accelerate the pace of scientific discovery. The partnership combines Danaher’s scientific instrumentation, automation technologies, and laboratory workflow software with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and artificial intelligence capabilities. According to the companies, the initiative is designed to help researchers move more quickly from AI-generated predictions to experimental evidence, creating a continuous learning cycle where experiments inform models and models help design better experiments.
The collaboration focuses on integrating AI directly into scientific instruments through several key technologies. These include NVIDIA DGX Spark for edge computing, RAPIDS for accelerated analytics and data processing, and BioNeMo Open Models for real-time inference and scientific reasoning. Additionally, the companies are exploring how scientific and physical AI, such as NVIDIA Cosmos world models and Omniverse Digital Twins, can support more intelligent instruments and laboratory workflows. The goal is to keep experimental evidence at the center of scientific decision-making while reducing the time and complexity involved in validating AI predictions.
Initial efforts under the agreement will focus on a select group of priority instruments, with the potential to expand across Danaher’s broader portfolio over time. The collaboration emphasizes preserving customer choice in AI models, standards, and technology providers. Danaher stated that this move aligns with its commitment to connected science, bringing together AI, accelerated computing, instruments, workflows, and experimental data to produce actionable results.
Danaher shares closed trading 0.74% higher at $222.84 on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the day before the announcement. The partnership reflects a broader industry trend of leveraging AI to enhance precision and efficiency in life sciences and technology sectors.
