Supermicro announced the NVIDIA Vera CPU Rack, a 100% liquid-cooled solution supporting 22,500 concurrent agent sandboxes. The system integrates 256 Vera CPUs and BlueField-4 DPUs to complement the Vera Rubin platform for scalable AI factories.
Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) has introduced the NVIDIA Vera CPU Rack, a new 100% liquid-cooled, rack-scale solution designed to support agentic AI and reinforcement learning workloads at scale. Announced on October 22, 2026, the product represents the latest addition to Supermicro’s Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS) portfolio, aiming to address the escalating infrastructure requirements of modern AI factories.
The NVIDIA Vera CPU Rack is engineered to deliver dense CPU capacity, supporting up to 22,500 concurrent agent sandboxes within a single liquid-cooled unit. According to the company, the system integrates 256 NVIDIA Vera CPUs with BlueField-4 Data Processing Units (DPUs) to facilitate secure, high-density agentic AI orchestration. This architecture is designed to handle complex data processing and reinforcement learning tasks that require significant computational resources beyond what traditional air-cooled systems can efficiently manage.
The new rack complements the already shipping Supermicro NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 platform. Both solutions utilize common third-generation NVIDIA MGX rack infrastructure and battery backup units, allowing customers to deploy them either standalone or in tandem. This interoperability enables the construction of full AI factories where high-density CPU compute is paired with advanced GPU capabilities, providing a flexible deployment model for enterprises scaling their agentic workflows.
Security and policy enforcement are central to the design, with the rack integrating the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform and OpenShell Reference Architecture. These components provide continuous monitoring and secure orchestration, ensuring that thousands of concurrent agent workflows operate within defined safety parameters. Supermicro’s DCBBS approach delivers a complete, integrated data center solution, encompassing liquid-cooled rack architecture, power infrastructure, networking, and cooling services.
Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro, stated that the company is extending its portfolio with fully integrated infrastructure to help customers accelerate time to deployment. He noted that for those preferring air-cooled environments, Supermicro also offers 1U and 2U air-cooled systems in the NVIDIA Vera CPU portfolio, but the liquid-cooled rack-scale option is optimized for the highest density requirements. Chris Marriott, vice president of enterprise platforms at NVIDIA, emphasized that supporting thousands of concurrent agent workflows requires a new class of high-density CPU infrastructure, which this solution provides.
In related market developments, Super Micro Computer shares were trading at USD 34.10 on October 22, 2026, reflecting a 4.08% decline for the day. The company’s market capitalization stands at approximately $21.33 billion. Recent financial performance has been strong, with Supermicro raising its Q1 fiscal 2027 sales forecast to between $18.5 billion and $19.5 billion, well above prior estimates, driven by robust demand for AI infrastructure.
